South Hill Events:

In early 2016 the Rotary Club of South Hill donated and assisted with the first display of this new 20' x 30' flag to be flown on special occasions such as Memorial Day, 4th of July and Veterans Day.

Our annual celebration of the services performed by our local emergency services branches. This year, District 7600 Governor Diane Hagemann joined us in the celebration on February 7, 2017.

Each year Club member Dwayne Gwaltney requests the club participate in a program he started several years ago. Each year the Club agrees to "Feed the Dragons" prior to the home opening game of the season. The program invites businesses and clubs to feed the Park View High School Dragons football team before each home game and in some cases the away games as well. We request the team be informed about Rotary's PolioPlus project and to display the "We are this Close" symbol. August 2016.

Our new Club President Lisa Clary (AKA the Hat Lady) was inducted by PDG Jayne Sullivan. The members decided to show their support by all wearing hats to the induction. Thanks to Ronnie Wells and his staff for a great meal and all the staff also wearing hats. A truly great was for Lisa to set the tone of her year.07/06/2017.

This year we outdid our support for the eradication of polio. 14 members and 3 guests from South Hill attended the PolioPlus ballgame at the Diamond in Richmond on 07/13/17. Our members endured the heat and enjoyed the game.

The 2016-17 Grant project is moving forward. The current phase is the installation of the connector hallway and putting the door in place.
